This movie is amazing

I wonder why Lambert sacrificed himself to protect Letitia despite him only raising her to achieve his evil plans. Although it is possible that he only did so to achieve his evil plans it is also possible that maybe over the years of raising her he grew to care for her but just didn’t want to show it that much and therefore upon realizing that she would be killed he decided to sacrifice himself to save her. If that second theroy is true then it would show that despite him being a evil Nazi who wanted to do horrible actions such as bombing Berlin and taking over the world somewhere deep down inside there was some good in him. It still doesn’t justify his horrible actions but if true it does show that he wasn’t completely heartless.
